Pacman Jones Getting Closer to the ‘Boys!

Are the Cowboys getting closer to giving Chicago Bears Return Specialist Devon Hester a run at his Pro Bowl spot with the addition of Adam Jones?

Looks that way. Jones Tuesday (3/25/08) spent 3 hours on former Cowboy and Hall of Fame wideout Michael Irvins radio show. As it look more and more likely Pacman will not return to Tennessee, he is not shying away from the fact he is ready to play.

During the interview he stated, “I’m not sitting here telling you I don’t own up to mistakes I’ve made,” Jones continued, “I accept everything, the punishment, everything that comes along with the bad decisions and bad choices I’ve made. In the end, I just pray to God I get a second chance.”

Pro Bono View: Could make a good deal of noise if your league have specific PR and KR positions, but in an IDP league he serves no use. Would love to see this kid get his act together and his career back on track, but other than that he’s not even worth paying attention to this season in my opinion. I hope he prove me wrong.

The Madden Curse!!!

On another message board I frequent a thread was posted about the dreaded “Madden Curse” and who will fall victim next season on the ’09 version or if people will try and avoid it altogether.

In quite a few responses a few people actually wanted Tom Brady and/or Adrian Peterson to succumb to the ill fate of Coach Maddens CD Voodoo Doll.

While I don’t claim to be any type of Photoshop Wizard I took up the request to create the digital fakes of them on the next installment of the legendary game.

Below you will find my efforts (not my best work), hope you enjoy.

Pro Bono Fantasy’s Top 10 RB Handcuff’s (2007)

With the NFL 2007-08 campaign set to kickoff next weekend, most fantasy drafts are winding down. when it comes to successful keys to a quality draft some things seem painfully obvious apparently it’s not.

I have bear witness to some really out of this world picks or have heard firsthand accounts of some of the strangest fantasy football drafting to date.

Vince Young 3rd overall (WHAT!?). He’s a 3rd rounder at best!!
Oaklands Team Defense when Wideouts Donte’ Stallworth and Santonio Holmes were still available.
Four Kickers in the 1st 7 rounds (okay that was last year, but still was worth a mention).
And last but not least. The shrinking allure of the Stud RB handcuff.

Folks, believe me handcuff the stud. When your most likely 1st or 2nd pick (sometimes both) goes down you don’t want to be left with the options of Lorenzo Booker (Mia) or De De Dorsey (Ind) on the waiver wire. On it seems right to go with your studs natural replacement. LaDanian go down, in goes Mr. Turner. With that being said here are Probono’s Top Ten RB handcuffs for 2007 that do not include the obvious handcuffing of LT.

1. Clinton Portis/Ladell Betts (WAS)
2. Fred Taylor/Maurice Jones-Drew (JAC)
3. Deuce McAllister/Reggie Bush (NO)
4. Warrick Dunn/Jerious Norwood (ATL)
5. Deshaun Foster/DeAngelo Williams (CAR)
6. Thomas Jones/Leon Washington (NYJ)
7. Travis Henry/Mike Bell (DEN)
8. Chester Taylor/Adrian Peterson (MIN)
9. Julius Jones/Marion Barber III (DAL)
10. Brandon Jacobs/Reuben Droughns (NYG)
(Honorable Mention) Lamont Jordon/ Dominic Rhodes (OAK)What are your thoughts? Comments are welcome here and on the Probono Forum.

Call Your Shot!!!

The NFL draft is history, the Free Agents are settled in, the OTA’s have started, and the Sunday NFL Ticket has been renewed.

Without one finely stitched balloon of pigskin booted in an official capacity we Fantasy Footballers are always up for debate.

  • Who’s the consensus No.2 pick (because we all know LT is #1)?
  • To handcuff or not to handcuff?
  • Is Thomas Jones really worth a Top 20 pick?
  • (2 Words) RANDY MOSS?

So why stop there? Prior to the NFL’s HOF Game I will make my Super Bowl Champion pick right now… after these messages from our sponsor!

Seriously go to our forum and weigh in on nthe debate and call your shot! Here’s mine!
