Matt Forte: Future Stud.

Can’t believe I passed on this guy in one of my Dynasty Leagues. But as promised to a former co-worker I will acknowledge on here that he appear to be a future stud in waiting. Forte has actually been one of the top fantasy backfield options over the last 3 weeks and he appear to in position to stay one most of the way out of da’ Bears 2008 campaign.

Now with a current a co-worker to whom I stated Dont’e Stallworth (WR/ Cleveland) was overrated I will start a post that will track a bet made between the two of us. I say Stallworth will not exceed 47 receptions and 8 TD’s while he feel DS will garner over 50 and 10! FYI: a 12 pack is on the line.

  1. Agreed. I stayed the heck out of the way of Matt Forte for a number of reasons. Bears offensive line problems last season, Bears bringing Grossman and Orton into camp, Bears appearing to have no legitimate receiving options… I thought the Bears would take at least 3 years to get that offense in any kind of order and by that time Forte would be a shell shocked mess with 1143 total career yards and four touchdowns.

And I STILL don’t like how upright Forte runs. I would be willing to overlook that flaw if someone would trade him to me in a league. ;)

I think the biggest surprise is the fact that he’s been such a good option catching the ball out of the backfield. I saw nothing that would indicate that.
